THERAGUN a été fondée en 2008 par le Dr. Jason Wersland après qu'un grave accident de moto lui a fait ressentir une douleur constante et affaiblissante. La première annonce de son produit, le G1 a été introduit en 2016 et en 2017, le THERAGUN G2 est devenu le leader de la thérapie percussive neuromusculaire.
