The tie on bottom is just for decoration. I ordered an XS which is my normal size and it was tight. Order one size bigger.

I usually order a small in bikini bottoms. A small worked for me here as well.Note: the is definitely a show your booty bikini! It's not a string, but it will show both cheeks. The bikini is very well made, and I would definitely buy another For Love & Lemons suit. Colors are true to the picture. If you're comfortable showing a little skin I would recommend this suit.
